The 'beautiful' family slain by father tormented by the prospect of Obama winning the election'

Excerpt from the Daily Mail: "Albert Peterson shot dead his wife and two sons hours after going to church because he dreaded the thought of Obama winning the election, a family friend has revealed"

They seem to be slightly downplaying the mental illness aspect of this. I know I'm cynical, but I see a subtle message here: The folks who don't like Obama are a bizarre and violent bunch. Don't be a hater! Vote Democrat!

An honest, non-sensational headline would have been “Mentally Ill Man Kills Family.” But no, in order to sell papers, they had to lead with the “conservative hates Obama so much he kills his family” angle. These papers should be ashamed of themselves.

If Obama wins, people will start pushing for a revolution. Things can’t go on this way. Of course, I don’t think Obama is going to win. I think he’s going to lose in a landslide.

*

Something is missing here. Doesn’t feel right.

You’re right.

This guy was mentally ill. End of story. His demented motivations are irrelevant.

If there is any blame, it is for a society that ignores deeply disturbed people until they do something horrible.

*

LSM lies in polling data killed this family. (just like guns people).

*

I see it a little differently. This man was a defense contractor and his wife worked for a company that had ties to the intelligence community. They both had security clearances. What did he/they know about a possible second Obama term that would cause him to think that suicide and murder of his family was a better option?

I understand that according to the source, he had mental issues but I also understand the man was a wealthy professional. Given that information, he couldn't have been a total nut job.

Wealthy defense contractor caps family and self...because Obama might (might?) get reelected?
This is someone who should have the wherewithal and contacts to relocate to a friendly country.
So what did he know, what was he working on, and did he find out something he wasn't going to keep quiet about (speculation about possible near-future misdeeds he might have been privy to by this administration is rife)?

The "mental illness" part is an aggressive defense against any letters sent out 'in the event of my sudden demise'.
